BIO
Tracy Powell is a lifelong resident of western Washington. He now lives in LaConner, where he operates Powell Studios with his wife Maralyne. He has been a painter and sculptor in many media, and currently works mostly in stone carving. His sculptures range from miniature to monumental, and are shown in galleries in Bellingham, Edison, Everett, Friday Harbor, Seattle, and Camano Island, and in Big Rock Garden Park in Bellingham and Westcott Bay Reserve on San Juan Island. He has created and installed large public sculptures at Deception Pass State Park, United Methodist Church in Anacortes, Skagit Valley Hospital, and the City of Mount Vernon as well as many private commissions.
Tracy is a member of the NorthWest Stone Sculptors Association, and has been an instructor at many of their symposia. He is a board member of Madrona Art Center on Guemes Island, has curated sculpture exhibits in LaConner, and worked on task forces for LaConner and Anacortes Arts Commissions.
Tracy Powell is a dedicated advocate for the causes of Peace, Love, and Mother Earth.
He and Maralyne are extremely fortunate to live near their two adult children, and to be actively involved in raising their three delightful granddaughters, Olivia, Maggie, and Abigail.
