Dear Artists,
Art lovers & Friends; NOW is the right time for joining us on
a Blue Horse Gallery trip to. . .

Above is the Villa
in Luxor on the bank of the Nile, which we’ve reserved for 13
nights.
. EGYPT .
February 5th to the 25th, 2008
Price cover's what is stated below - $3650.00 - per person, double
occupancy.
Here’s what’s included in this package -
Air transport, non-stop Seattle to Paris, 3 nights hotel in Paris.
Air transport, non-stop Paris to Cairo, 3 nights hotel in Cairo with
a view of the Pyramids.
Just Look out the window
- I've reserved rooms on the Pyramid view side!
Air transport, Cairo to Luxor - 13 nights in a spectacular Villa on
the Nile. (pictured again below)

Then back to Paris for
2 nights before we fly non-stop, Paris to Seattle.
The reason for stopping in Paris, besides the obvious (IT’S
PARIS!) is twofold. First, it’s a long way from Seattle to Egypt
and we’re hoping that this will make it easier on our bodies
and our inner time adjustments. Second, a visit to the Egyptology
section of the Louvre will be the perfect appetizer before getting
to Egypt itself. (Note; Paris will be COLD, but will also have few
tourists. The answer for clothing will be given in our usual ''trip
suggestion'' flyer - but I'm thinking, "Not MORE clothes - just
layering up" for Paris.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Villa that we've reserved in Luxor is right on the Nile. It sleeps
ten and six more will sleep nearby, but have the run of the villa.
Luxor has more ancient monuments near it than almost any other place
on the planet. It will be convenient to cross the Nile to visit the
town of Luxor, but the major monuments we’ll want to see will
be on OUR side of the river. The owners of the villa live nearby and
will help us with incidentals, hiring of vans, and answer questions
about the area.
Luxor is safe and has a large tourist industry but we will be out
of the hubbub on the quiet side of the river - where most of the monuments
actually are.

Villa rooftop provides inviting areas to eat,
PAINT & write, enjoying vistas seen nowhere else in the world.
The temperature there this time of year averages from highs of the
mid 70’s to lows in the mid 50's. The villa folks will cater
meals if we wish (this is stated to be quite reasonable), restaurants
will be plentiful and cheap plus, as usual, we'll have a kitchen and
may opt to cook for our selves.
To those of you who’ve traveled with us before, the biggest
change will be that in order to keep it simple, we are not including
ground transportation. This means that you will be getting to Seattle
on your own. Also, we will not be renting cars. My research has convinced
me that by splitting the cost of vans and drivers, we'll have 1. a
kind of "Guide" - 2. Safety (as opposed to US driving in
Luxor) - 3. lower and more fair cost to each individual. Also, near
the villa is a boat to take us across the Nile to Luxor where we can
walk around and explore, so a van won't always be needed. We will
each pay as we go on the ground, including airport transfers.
We always advise everyone to get travel insurance, it’s an absolute
necessity. The right insurance will cover lots of things other than
just health. I'll talk with Bellingham Travel about their providers.

SAFETY AND POLITICS ~
I feel there's a window of opportunity open now that may or may not
be available to us in a few years. I've been watching the politics
in the Middle East and waiting for things to improve. My perception
is that the easiest time to visit Egypt is now.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February
is coming up soon and the airlines and villa have been paid for already.
We haven't been able to plan for this trip a year in advance like
our others, as this time feels like the right window of opportinity.
The committment we need from you is $1825.00 (half of the trip price)
now - with the rest due October 15th.
